Cleaned before the bearing is installed

1. Most of the outer surfaces of the new bearings are greased.

This grease plays a main role of antirust and does not lubricate the bearing. So the bearings should be cleaned thoroughly before installation. For rolling mill bearing they are generally sealed by rust preventing oil and are cleaned by petrol or diesel. Extra large bearing can be cleaned by petrol or disel.

2. Cleaning the axis, internal hole of the bearing housing and other parts.

Firstly wash them with petrol or disel, clean them with dry silk (or dry nylon cloth) then spread a little oil for easy installation. After these parts are washed all the molding sand on the casting should be cleaned thoroughly. All the spurs and closed angles on the parts matched with the bearing should be removed to prevent the sand residu and metal fragment from falling into the bearing when the bearing is working so that the quality of installation will not be affected.
